Restylane, Radiesse & Sculptra

How It Works

The Aging Process

Aging is a part of life, and as the years pass, the less vibrant, refreshed and youthful the skin may begin to look. In youthful skin, there is an abundance of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid which give it volume, support and suppleness. As a part of the aging process, these natural support structures become less plentiful. The result is facial lines, wrinkles and skin laxity - all of which rob the skin of its youthful, fresh appearance.

RESTYLANE

Restylane® was recently approved by the FDA for use in the United States and has been used in Europe and Canada for nearly a decade. It is an injectable gel, unlike Collagen, which is a paste composed of saline, local anesthesia, and the Collagen material itself. It is used for filling moderately deep wrinkles and depressions on the face and forehead.

Restylane consists of hyaluronic acid, a normal component of human skin, and is made synthetically using bacteria, then sterilized. It is not made out of other animals, so there is no need for allergy testing. It lasts longer than Collagen under equivalent circumstances. The pain of injection can be well controlled by using specific topical anesthetics.

Immediate results and natural collagen stimulation - it gets better with RADIESSE Volumizing Filler.1

RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier.1

Once injected, it provides immediate volume and correction but continues to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen.1

Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres leaving behind only your own natural collagen.1

Smile Lines

For most of us, smile lines - also known as nasolabial folds - are nothing to smile about. These lines and creases run from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth, and are the result of the loss of facial volume and skin elasticity as we age. They can make you look older, tired, or unhappy - even though you feel youthful inside. Fortunately, treatment with RADIESSE® Volumizing Filler can replenish youthful volume and stimulate collagen production in this area, minimizing the appearance of those pesky facial lines, wrinkles, and folds that mask our smiles. Best of all, results are clinically proven to last a year or more in many patients.1,2,3

Marionette Lines

Even if you have never heard of marionette lines, you probably know what they are. These lines that run straight downwards from the corners of the mouth can make you look unhappy. Marionette lines form as facial volume begins to deplete and deeper creases begin to form below the mouth.

Corners of the Mouth

The corners of the mouth, also known as the oral commissures, can turn downward as you age and lose volume below the mouth. This downturned appearance of the mouth can make you look like you are frowning or even mad. In addition, volume loss in this area often leads to the formation or the deepening of already-formed marionette lines.

Pre Jowl

A little known area of the face that can make a big impact on the way we look is the pre-jowl area, or the pre-jowl sulcus, which is the area on either side of our chin. Facial volume loss associated with the aging process results in sagging of the skin in other facial

areas, and leaves the pre-jowl area hollow

Chin wrinkle

This pesky wrinkle, forming horizontally across the chin can really distract from the smile. Caused by facial volume loss, chin wrinkles appear gradually over time.
