Laser Wrinkle Reduction

What does Fraxel Laser do?

  • Fraxel Laser uses patented technology to target sun damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deep into the skin.

  • The laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, leaving the surrounding tissue intact, which promotes rapid healing.

  • This stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, stimulates your own natural collegen growth to reduce wrinkles, replacing the older or damaged cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

What makes your skin look older?

Over the years, your skin is exposed to sun, air pollution, stress, fatigue and lifestyle factors such as smoking, which can affect your skin’s texture, color and tightness.

Your skin contains two proteins, collagen and elastin, which keep your skin youthful and tight. But as you age and get more sun exposure those proteins break down faster than your body can rebuild them. As a result, your skin may start to sag and show damage like wrinkles, deep frown lines or sun spots.

How is it different from other treatments?

Some treatments reduce only fine lines on the skin's surface, while others attempt to simulate collagen production to reduce wrinkles, but may damage your skin. Other lasers can actually burn or scar your skin before reaching the collagen. NLite uses laser energy at a frequency that gently targets only the collagen layer, without unnecessarily harming the outer layers of skin. As a result, your face becomes smoother and younger looking.

Is it safe?

As with any laser treatment, there are some potential side effects. The most common effects are swelling and redness, which are typically minimal and subside quickly. Other side effects may include:

  •  Minor itching, dry skin, peeling or flaking

  •  Bronzed skin appearance

  •  Risk of infection or scarring

How does it work?

Fraxel treatment uses patented fractional technology to target damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate superficial skin layers. The laser treats only a fraction of tissue at a time, leaving the surrounding tissue untouched, which promotes rapid healing. This stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, replacing the old and damaged cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin.

When do the results appear, and how long do they last?

The results are both immediate and progressive. Soon after the treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer and smoother, look brighter and show a more even tone. The next 3 to 6 months will bring more improvement as your skin continues to create new collagen. Results are long lasting depending on your lifestyle, age, skin condition and skin care regimen.

How many treatments do I need?

Desired outcomes are typically reached in multiple treatments. The specific number of treatments is tailored to your goals and desired results, as well as your lifestyle. We will work with you to identify the appropriate level of treatment and your preferred downtime.

What should I expect after my treatment?

Depending on the level of the treatment, you may experience redness or swelling after the procedure which diminishes as quickly as the next day or over the next several days. Your skin will naturally bronze over the next week or two. As you continue treatment, the sunburned-to-bronzed appearance will repeat after each treatment. As with a sunburn, your skin will flake and exfoliate normally, revealing fresher, glowing and smoother looking and feeling skin.

you want to attain the remarkable results Fraxel treatment delivers. Aggressive treatments require fewer sessions and result in more post treatment side-effects – meaning a few days of social downtime. Less aggressive treatments accomplish the same results, with a few more treatment sessions and less pronounced side-effects.

For some types of skin and skin conditions, gentle and/or fewer treatments are best. Fraxel treatment was specifically engineered to give your physician complete treatment control, based on your particular needs.
